I have been craving Carolina BBQ sauce ever since I visited Charleston South Carolina. What a fabulous, adorable city. Charleston has so much preserved history which is fascinating to see and experience first-hand. It is such a historical place to roam, sight see and try popular foods unique to the area. And when the sun is low and the air is cold in Wisconsin, it’s a good place to get a little vitamin D and breathe warmer air!
I had it with the most amazing pulled pork at a quaint little BBQ restaurant and it was mind blowing. Such a different flavor than regular BBQ sauce, but in a good way.
Carolina BBQ sauce is not even a new thing- but it was to me! It’s been around forever but is a delightful change to regular BBQ sauce.
This recipe for Carolina BBQ sauce is slightly sweet, slightly spicy, and very mustardy. I served it with pulled pork, but I can see it being good with a nice smoked brisket or grilled chicken.
