Ranch seasoning is a great blend of spices and herbs used to make Ranch Dressing as well as season meats, add to dips, and more. It is quick and easy to prepare, taking less than 5 minutes. It requires only seven spices and can be stored in the cabinet for up to one year.

This ranch seasoning is completely natural and contains no preservatives, making it a healthier option compared to store-bought ranch mixes or bottled ranch dressings. The recipe yields about 12 batches of ranch dressing, with each batch requiring 2 tablespoons of the seasoning.

The ingredients in this ranch seasoning:

Dried dill- Dried parsley- Granulated garlic- Dried chives- Granulated onion

These ingredients in homemade ranch seasoning are fresh herbs and vegetables that can easily be grown in a home garden or purchased from a grocery store. Additionally, sea salt and black pepper are staple ingredients that are both readily available and relatively inexpensive.

While it is considered “generally safe” by the FDA but may have negative impacts on health.  Many foods that contain maltodextrin are highly processed and also have low fiber content. MSG: MSG is a food additive that is used to enhance flavors in foods and seasonings. Like, maltodextrin, it is also considered “generally safe”.  Unfortunately, some people may have more sensitivity and possible adverse effects from eating it.

Lactic acid: This form of lactic acid is also a food additive used to preserve food and enhance flavors.

Calcium lactate: Calcium lactate is a food additive used to thicken and stabilize foods.

Artificial flavoring: Artificial flavoring are chemicals used in foods that taste like natural foods.

The good news is that all these food additives can be avoided by investing only 5 minutes to mix up a large batch of ranch seasoning! Whether the spices are home grown and dried or bought from the store, this homemade ranch seasoning is a better choice to avoid additives. Plus, the flavor of homemade is always better!
