Italian olive oil dip is a delicious accompaniment to fresh crusty bread. It is served at many Italian restaurants, sometimes prepared tableside. It is quick to whip up right before a meal and adds a delightful garlicy spicy flavor booster to homemade bread.
I first tasted this olive oil bread dip several years ago in an Italian restaurant. I was leery of trying it because I thought it looked overwhelming with spices. Boy, was I surprised! This is the perfect blend of spice, garlic, and oil. This might seriously be better than garlic toast.
Plus, extra virgin olive oil and raw garlic have excellent health benefits. EVOO lowers cancer risks, inflammation in the body, and has shown to be heart healthy. Garlic is one of my favorite alliums not only because it tastes so good, but it contains so many health benefits. Garlic is beneficial to the circulatory system, immune system, and endocrine system. It is truly one of the most marvelous foods on the planet.
