Omelets

Omelets are not just an easy and quick breakfast option, they are a delightful way to kickstart your day. Rich in protein, the combination of eggs, meat, and cheese in an omelet will keep you feeling satisfied and energized far longer than a breakfast filled with high carbohydrates.

Omelets may seem intimidating to make, but they contain just a few ingredients and are actually very easy. We even have two kids in the house that can successfully make an omelet on their own in less than 10 minutes.

To create the perfect scrambled egg base, it’s crucial to cook the eggs at a gentle, low temperature. This technique prevents them from burning or sticking to the pan. The eggs are flipped once during cooking to ensure they are evenly cooked through. Then they are generously filled with a delightful blend of cheese, meat, and fresh vegetables. For an extra touch of fluffiness, a splash of water is added to the eggs before they hit the heat.

Why Make Omelets for breakfast?

Omelets are packed with protein, making them a perfect breakfast. They are keto friendly. Eggs and meat are one of the best ways to start your morning. The eggs alone provide almost a quarter of the daily recommended intake of protein. Add a little meat: beef, ham, or turkey and you will be well on your way to successfully meeting that daily goal.

Looking for another quick and nutritious option to carry you through until lunch? Consider preparing some Hard Boiled Eggs.

Omelets take as little as 5 minutes to make, so they can even be made on a weekday before school and work.

Omelets are versatile- whatever you want to fill inside is open game. These omelets pictured are made with fresh cheddar cheese and leftover chopped brisket. I also love a Denver omelet, with diced ham, peppers, and onions. Mushroom and cheese is also a popular choice. Any choice of meat, cheese, or veggies will do- experiment with all the wonderful options.

Preparation, Servings, and Storage

Omelets can be assembled in as little as five minutes, making them a superb option for busy weekdays before school or work. Their versatility is one of their greatest attributes; the fillings are only limited by your imagination. The omelets featured in this recipe include the rich, creamy flavor of fresh cheddar cheese paired with succulent leftover chopped brisket. For a classic twist, a Denver omelet filled with diced ham, sweet peppers, and onions is always a winner. For mushroom lovers, a simple mushroom and cheese filling can make for a delightful choice. Experiment with any variety of meats, cheeses, or vegetables to discover your perfect flavor combination.

Moreover, omelets are easy to store! They can be refrigerated for up to two days and easily reheated in the microwave for a quick meal. You can even wrap them in plastic and freeze them for up to a month; simply thaw in the refrigerator and reheat when you’re ready to enjoy.
