Homemade croutons are an easy way to use up end pieces of bread, or bread that is a few days old. It’s simple, quick, and lasts in the pantry for a few weeks.
Croutons are great on salads, soups, or sometimes just a crunchy snack!

Crunchy homemade croutons
Equipment
- sheet pan
- mixing bowl
- small bowl
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Sea salt
- pinch Ground black pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 3 cups Bread, cut in cubes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Prepare sheet pan with parchment paper lining.
- Melt butter in the microwave for 30 seconds or until completely melted.
- Place bread cubes in a large mixing bowl. Pour butter over bread and toss to coat all the pieces.
- In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- sprinkle seasonings on to the bread cubes, tossing every so often to get all the seasoning distributed evenly.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until bread cubes begin to brown.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool before using.
- Can be stored at room temperature for 2 weeks.
