Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

There are few cookies in the world that get perfect status, but nothing can beat a chewy, soft chocolate chip cookie. It seems like chocolate chip cookies can be temperamental sometimes. This recipe has proven to have a good rise every time I’ve baked them.

Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies

Course Dessert
Servings 5 Dozen

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 Large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking soda dissovled in 1 tsp water
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a stand mixer, combine butter with sugar and brown sugar. Beat with the paddle attachment until the 3 ingredients are combined.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and beat again until all ingredients are combined.
  • Turn mixer off. Add flour, salt, baking soda slurry.
  • Restart mixer and mix until dry ingredients are just combined.
  • Remove bowl from stand mixer. Using a rubber spatula, scrap bowl to make sure all the dry ingredients are combined.
  • Add chocolate chips to cookie dough and thoroughly mix in.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Scoop dough into about a tablespoon shaped ball and place on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Remove pan from oven and rest on cutting board for 5 minutes. Remove cookies from sheet pan and allow to cool on a cooling rack.

Notes

These cookies are so good they don't last long. I believe in an airtight container, 5 days at room temperature for maximum freshness. They can also be frozen in a freezer bag.
