Hawaiian Pizza

Hawaiian pizza is definitely one of those love it or hate it recipes. Baby G said there is a huge debate in her class about pineapple as a pizza topping. Apparently, it was voted as a no go in the 7th grade student government. Not only in her class has pineapple on pizza been controversial. There are debates all over the world regarding this.

Either way, it is an alternative to traditional pizza. As for me, while I might not rank Hawaiian pizza among my top choices, I certainly appreciate the wide array of pizza styles available. My personal favorite toppings lean towards the earthy taste of mushrooms, but I can still recognize the charm of a Hawaiian pizza. The combination of sweet, juicy pineapple paired with the salty savoriness of Canadian bacon offers a refreshing twist to the classic pizza experience.

Interestingly, despite its name, Hawaiian pizza is not a traditional dish from Hawaii. It was actually first created in Canada during the 1960s, which adds an intriguing layer to its identity. Whether you love it or just want to change up pizza night, here it is. You never know, it may be someone in the house’s new favorite pizza.

Preparation, Servings, and Storage

Hawaiian pizza is simple to make and it only takes about 30 minutes to prepare after the dough has risen. One generously topped pizza can serves up to eight delicious slices.

Pizza is best served fresh and hot out of the oven. If there are leftovers, they can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheating is a breeze. Simply pop it in a 350°F oven for about 5 minutes to revive that melty cheese and restore the crust’s delightful crispiness.
