Fresh Baked Slider Buns

Homemade slider rolls are soft, white bread that is perfect for making slider sandwiches. There are many different options for slider sandwiches, including slider burgers, ham and Swiss, and my favorite— Turkey Bacon Ranch Sliders. For a vegetarian option, sliders can be made with zucchini, eggplant, or tofu. Sliders are a great choice for a quick meal on a busy weeknight, and they can also be served as appetizers at a party.

Slider rolls are a type of yeast bread that rises in just one hour. Yeast breads are relatively easy to make and take far less time than sourdough. I use instant yeast and store it in the freezer to maintain freshness. The addition of milk and butter to the dough creates an exceptionally soft texture.

Why make homemade slider buns?

There is nothing better than homemade bread, and slider rolls are no exception. Homemade bread is fresher and contains no preservatives. The presence of preservatives in store-bought bread is enough to motivate me to make it myself. Consider how long a loaf of bread can sit out on the counter without molding; that indicates it is laden with preservatives. Homemade bread will begin to mold at room temperature in about six days. Additionally, the cost savings of making bread at home compared to buying it pre-made are significant.

There is also a sense of nostalgia and pride that comes with baking your own bread. The aroma that fills the house while the bread is baking is simply delightful. There are numerous benefits to making your own bread, as the simple staple ingredients are easy to keep on hand.

Everyone in the house will appreciate having fresh bread, and you can feel good knowing that you’re providing them with fresher, healthier ingredients. In previous generations, baking bread was a common daily or weekly task, but it has only been widely available from large-scale bakeries for about a century.

Homemade slider rolls can be baked and stored in the freezer for up to three months. I like to make multiple batches at once to save time on busy nights. The rolls can also be kept wrapped at room temperature for up to three days.
