Omelets are an easy, fast breakfast. Protein rich eggs, meat, and cheese will keep you full and ready for the day much longer than a high carb breakfast.
Omelets may seem intimidating to make, but they contain just a few ingredients and are actually very easy. We even have two kids in the house that can successfully make an omelet on their own in less than 10 minutes.
The scrambled egg is cooked at a low temperature to prevent burning and sticking. Flipped once to cook the eggs through and filled with cheese, meat, and vegetables. Water is added to the eggs to give them a fluffier texture.
Why Make Omelets for breakfast?
Omelets are packed with protein, making them a perfect breakfast. They are keto friendly. Eggs and meat are one of the best ways to start your morning. The eggs alone provide almost a quarter of the daily recommended intake of protein. Add a little meat: beef, ham, or turkey and you will be well on your way to successfully meeting that daily goal. Omelets take as little as 5 minutes to make, so they can even be made on a weekday before school and work.
Omelets are versatile- whatever you want to fill inside is open game. These omelets pictured are made with fresh cheddar cheese and leftover chopped brisket. I also love a Denver omelet, with diced ham, peppers, and onions. Mushroom and cheese is also a popular choice. Any choice of meat, cheese, or veggies will do- experiment with all the wonderful options.
Omelets can be refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheated in the microwave. Omelets can even be wrapped in plastic and frozen for up to a month. Just thaw in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave.
