Melt the butter in a large bowl and whisk in the sugar.
Add the egg and vanilla and whisk again until smooth.
Pour the apple cider in and whisk again.
Gently fold in the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and sea salt. Stir until just combined.
Using a muffin scoop, add the batter to the lined muffin pan, filling each 2/3 full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove the muffins to a cooling rack and allow to cool for 30 minutes before frosting.
In a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, beat the butter until light and fluffy.
Add the powdered sugar and begin mixing slowly. Increase the speed as the ingredients combine.
Add the apple cider to the bowl and mix again on medium speed.
Add the milk and vanilla. Mix again, starting slow and increasing speed as it combines. Beat for 3-4 minutes or until fluffy.
