Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/3 cup Butter
  • 2¼ tsp Instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 4½ cups Bread flour
  • 1 tsp Sea salt

Apple Cinnamon Filling

  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 large Apple, skinned, cored, and diced

Maple Frosting

  • 4 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup Butter, softened
  • 3 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 2½ cups Powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Heat the milk and butter in the microwave to about 110℉. If it is hotter than this, allow to cool before adding it to the stand mixer.
  • Measure the instant yeast and sugar into the mixer bowl.
  • Add the milk and butter, eggs, bread flour, and sea salt.
  • Using the hook attachment, knead the dough for 6-7 minutes or until a soft dough ball has formed and the ingredients are combined.
  • Remove the hook, cover, and allow to rise for one hour.
  • Grease a 13x9 baking pan.
  • Soften the butter in the microwave so that it is spreadable.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced apple.
  • Remove the dough from the stand mixer bowl and using a rolling pin, roll out to a 24x12 rectangle.
  • Brush the entire dough with the butter and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar apples over the dough.
  • Roll the dough into a tight 24 inch long log, pinching the seam shut at the end of the dough.
  • Slice the dough into 12 equal portions.
  • Place the rolls on the prepared baking dish, 3 across and 4 down.
  • Cover and allow to rise for one hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  • Bake the apple cinnamon rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 20 minutes while preparing the maple frosting.
  • In a clean mixer bowl, whip to combine the softened cream cheese and butter.
  • Add the maple syrup and powdered sugar. Beat slow until the powdered sugar begins to absorb, then beat on high for 2 minutes.
  • Spread the maple frosting on top of the cooled apple cinnamon rolls. Serve right away.
