Measure the yeast, sugar, and water into the bowl of the stand mixer.
Add the bread flour and sea salt.
Using the dough hook, knead the dough for 6-8 minutes, or until the dough is combined.
Remove the hook and cover. Allow to rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and separate into 12 equal dough balls.
Preheat the oven to 400°F and line 2 sheet pans with parchment paper.
Roll each dough ball into breadsticks that are approximately 6-8 inches long. Cover and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Bake the breadsticks for 12-15 minutes, or until a golden brown exterior.
In a small bowl, melt the butter.
Remove the breadsticks from the oven and generously brush with melted butter. Lightly sprinkle the garlic powder and parmesan cheese on top. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
