- 1/2 cup Butter, softened
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Sea salt
- 1/2 tsp Cloves, ground
- 1/2 tsp Ginger, ground
- 1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
- 2 tbsp Sugar (for rolling before baking)
In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and molasses and stir until combined.
Fold in the flour, baking soda, sea salt, cloves, ginger, and cinnamon.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour. (Overnight is best)
Preheat the oven to 375 °F.
Remove the dough from the oven and allow to sit at room temperature while the oven is preheating. Line the sheet pans with parchment paper.
Roll the dough in to small 1-2 inch balls.
Place one ball at a time into the bowl of sugar, coating all sides.
Evenly space 12 cookies onto a sheet pan and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow to cool on the sheet pan briefly before transferring to a cooling rack.
Once the cookies are completely cool, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Drizzle over the top and allow to dry before serving or storing.
