Add 8 cups of hot water and 4 bags of passion tea to the gallon jug. Allow the tea to steep while preparing the other ingredients.
In a 1 quart saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Stir and bring to a boil over medium high heat. The simple syrup is ready when all of the sugar is dissolved and has boiled for one minute.
Remove the simple syrup from the heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Remove the tea bags from the water, squeezing to get the remaining water out of the bags.
Add the lemon juice and 5 cups of water to the tea.
Pour the simple syrup into the jar and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
